La Leche
League Slovenia
La Leche
League Slovenia
is a member of La Leche
League International (LLLI). LLLI is a non-profit, non-political and non-sectarian
international organization dedicated to promoting breastfeeding and
providing information, support and help to mothers who want to breastfeed.
The organization unites mothers and other women from all over the
world who are interested in breastfeeding. It is maintained by LLL group Leaders. LLLI was
formed in 1956 in the USA
(Illinois)
by seven mothers who successfully breastfed their children. Through their
own experience and the experience of many mothers they realised
that a mother's wish and decision were not enough for successful
breastfeeding, and that often adequate information, support and help were
needed.
The name La Leche is Spanish and it means
»the milk.«
LLL groups in Slovenia hold meetings in Ljubljana and Škofja
Loka. For information on meetings please phone
your nearest LLL Leader. At meetings you can
borrow books, leaflets and other materials from LLLI.
We welcome all expectant, nursing and other mothers, not only those who
need help and information, but also those who want to share their
breastfeeding experience with other mothers. Babies and toddlers with their
toys are always our special guests!
If you need help or advice on breastfeeding, you can phone our Leaders or ask
questions on breastfeeding
phorum. They will also provide information on
our regular monthly meetings.
Leader information is found in the Slovenian section.
